What is CABS?
CABS provides individual, family, group, respite and crisis counseling. Services are provided to youth and their families that reside in Lake County. Assessment for psychiatric hospitalization is provided to all Lake County youth who are wards of DCFS, have Medicaid or KidCare and all uninsured youth. Counseling services are provided mainly in the community, including schools. Case managers are available to assist families in obtaining the resources necessary to restore balance. We strive to help youth and their families develop positive coping techniques, communication skills and the means to manage mental health issues, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
What is the cost?
Fees for CABS services are based on level of income and number of dependents. A sliding fee schedule based on national poverty levels is available for Lake County residents.
Hours of service and location:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. The CABS office is located at 3010 Grand Avenue, in Waukegan, on the northeast corner of Greenwood and Jackson.

Nicasa’s youth services provide a variety of programs that capitalize on individual strengths and skill-building to give today’s youth the tools they need to succeed and develop healthy lifestyles. They provide free pregnancy testing and consultation is available. We provide maternity and baby clothes up to size 2, cover, high chairs, etc. We offer referrals and information regarding other resources, including abortion and adoption. Everything is free and confidential.

The prenatal program provides comprehensive medical care to Lake County pregnant women who are income eligible, cannot afford or obtain care, or do not have private insurance.
