The District 126 Technology & Innovation Department, located at Zion-Benton Township High School, is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting the technology systems that power teaching, learning, communication, and district operations. This includes managing student and staff devices, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, educational software, artificial intelligence initiatives, classroom technology, and digital learning resources. Our goal is to provide secure, reliable, and innovative technology that empowers students and staff while preparing learners for success in an ever-changing digital world.

As part of our Mobile Learning Program, every District 126 student is provided with a district-issued learning device to ensure equitable access to educational resources both at school and at home. Incoming ninth-grade students receive an Apple iPad, while students in grades 10–12 continue using the district-issued device assigned during their freshman year. These devices provide access to instructional materials, learning management systems, collaboration tools, digital textbooks, and educational applications that support learning anytime, anywhere.

The Technology & Innovation Department also sponsors Tech Crew, a student leadership program that provides hands-on experience in technology support, device deployment, customer service, troubleshooting, and event technology. Students develop valuable technical and professional skills while assisting with district technology initiatives, gaining real-world experience that supports college, career, and workforce readiness.
