Each summer, District 126 provides a variety of programming during the summer months to meet student needs.  This page will provide students and families with all the information they need to make their decisions for the summer along with links to forms and resources necessary to enroll in our summer programs.  If scheduling questions persist, reach out to Mr. Jake Carlson, Executive Director for Student Services via email [email protected] or phone at 847-731-9356.  Dr. Joaquin Stephenson, Zion-Benton High School Assistant Principal, will also serve as the 2023 Summer School Principal.  He can be reached via email [email protected] or phone at 847-731-9794.    

Please note that summer school runs Monday through Thursday with the building closed on Fridays each week.

Freshmen Focused                                          Freshman Focused is for ALL students in the Class of 2026 (incoming freshman students).             

Session 1:  May 30 - June 8                                               Freshman Focused is a "bridge" program to prepare freshmen students for their first year of high school.

Session 2:  June 12 - June 22

 Summer Stinger

This program is by invitation only and includes students with special education services who have been recommended for an extended school year. 

Held at New Tech Campus

May 30 - June 20 (no school June 19)

No School on Fridays

Summer Stinger is designed to help students progress on IEP goals and transition to high school.

Times: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
