Increase in Industry Certificates

DISTRICT 126 POINTS OF PRIDE:
In 2025, District 126 saw a 493% increase in the number of students earning industry certifications compared to previous years—a remarkable achievement that reflects our growing commitment to college and career readiness. Additionally, over 200 students participated in programs at the Lake County Tech Campus, gaining real-world experience in specialized career pathways.

The Lake County Tech Campus serves as a regional extension for high schools across Lake and McHenry Counties. It offers more than 20 specialized career training programs—such as automotive technology, firefighting, welding, medical assisting, and computer science—that would be difficult to fully replicate on a single high school campus due to the facilities, equipment, and industry-certified staff required.

Through this partnership, students in District 126 are able to earn industry-recognized certifications, gain hands-on experience, and explore high-demand career fields—positioning them for success whether they choose to pursue college, training programs, or go directly into the workforce. Currently, D126 maintains 214 seats for student enrollment at the Tech Campus, a number that has grown steadily over the years and reflects the district’s ongoing investment in career-connected learning.

This sustained growth in industry certifications and Tech Campus participation is a major Point of Pride as we wrap up our 2021–2025 Strategic Plan and advance toward our Vision 2030 goals focused on Future-Focused Learning.
