About NJROTC

  • Vision
    To provide an opportunity for students to learn the basic elements and requirements for national security as well as their personal obligation as Americans.

    Mission
    The mission of our NJROTC Unit is to:

    • Promote patriotism.
    • Develop informed and responsible citizens.
    • Promote habits of orderliness and precision and develop respect for constituted authority.
    • Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership.

    Unit Goals
    The goals of our unit are to:

    • Attain the top ranking in Area Three.
    • Achieve the top four ranking nationally.
    • Earn the Distinguished Unit Award.
    • Qualify the Drill Team for Nationals.
    • Have the Rifle Team win the Navy National Championship.
    • Place an academic team in the top five in the SECNAV Competition.
    • Place in the top three for Seaperch.

    Unit History
    Our NJROTC unit was formed in the beginning of the first semester of 1994. It was started by Captain Meyers, Chief Bobby Navar, and Chief Moralles. The NJROTC unit has progressed through eight instructors. Today it is run by Captian Annexstad, Master Chief Hackstein, and Chief Nelson.

    Accomplishments
    Drill Team placed 1st place in Area 3 Drill meet and competed at Navy Nationals.
    Rifle Team placed 1st in Area Three, 4th at Navy Nationals.
    Distinguished Unit Award twenty-one consecutive years.
    Selected as the most outstanding unit in the nation for 2015/2016.
